- The revisions for the Disaster Plan are finished and Penny will send replacement pages to Karyle Butcher, Jim Corbett and copies for Catherine Murray-Rust’s manuals.
2. Behavior Workshop Follow-up
- Susan sent out an email requesting whether there should be a follow up to the Behavior Workshop given last May by OSU Public Safety. She received several positive responses.
- The committee would like to present a more in depth workshop with a quick overview of the material given last May followed by patron/staff behavior scenario examples and Q/A session. Currently looking at a length of 1 ½ hrs and prefer the first week of winter break. The library building staff/faculty and student assistants will be invited as well as providing minor refreshments.
- Bryan will contact Paulette Ratchford at OSU Public Safety to see if this workshop could happen by winter break. If not we will try for a later date.
- Bryan will send out an email with behavior scenarios to which the rest of the committee will add ideas.
3. First Aid/CPR Training
- Kerrie will check with Bonnie to see if funding is available to provide First Aid/CPR training to interested library staff/faculty. Individual departments have paid for this in the past.
- After checking on funding, Bryan will send out an email to determine the level of interest.
- Dixon provides on-site training.
- Should the library purchase a defibrillator?
4. Code of Conduct
- The committee feels that library employees need a Code of Conduct to support enforcement of policies and regulations. Is the OSU version enough or do we need a more library-specific version?
- The committee will wait until the Behavior Workshop follow up and the committee will work with OSU Public Safety to determine if the library need its own version and if so, how to best state our policies.
