1. Review :
- Karen has made the revisions to the Emergency manual
- Bryan shared Access Evacuation procedures with Valery
- Extinguisher training happened on Dec. 20.
2. Department Evacuation Training
- Access has trained all of their staff in building evacuation procedures. Riddle will be trained has back for the evenings.
- Valery will check with Ruth on Reference emergency training
- Plan to have staff test megaphones
3. Fire Extinguisher Training
- The fire extinguisher training on Dec. 20 was a success - approx. 40 staff attended
- Building fire extinguishers need to be access by breaking the glass with the foot or chair leg
- Plan for future training during Spring or Summer for those unable to attend the Dec. training
4. First Aid Kits
- Bryan will send out the list for first aid kit contents
- The Safety Committee has no budget, so Karen will check to see where some money for supplies might be had
- Lorraine (in absentia) will contact department heads about assigning responsibility for the first aid kits in each department
5. Disaster/Recovery Plan
- The committee reviewed the Stanford disaster/Recovery plan to use as a template. The committee felt it would work well for our purposes.
- Will devote the next meeting on the library Disaster/Recovery plan.
6. Action Items
- Continue checking vendors
- Bryan will train Riddle for Access evacuation procedures
- Valery will check with Ruth on Reference evacuation procedures
- Bryan will share the first aid content list
- Karen will check on possible budget source for supplies
- Lorraine will ask department heads to assign responsibility for first aid kits
- Committee will review further the Disaster/Recovery plan for the next meeting
Next meeting on Jan. 24, 3:30 - 4:30.
