1. Heart Defibrillator :

Penny asked if Library would agree to purchase heart defibrillator to have available in the building. We need costs and training information before decision on a recommendation can be made.

2. Disaster Plan

3. First Aid Kit Supplies

Supplies are to be ordered through department's purchasing clerk, who knows the provider is Facilities Services.

4. Code of Conduct

Penny had searched the web and found codes from Berkeley and CSU that she thinks we should review before finalizing our draft. When finalized, the draft will be circulated through departments for input and then a recommendation forwarded to LAMP.

5. Training for Library Staff

Training for staff for security issues/disruptive patrons was discussed, and it was decided that we should order copies of The Complete Library Safety and Security Manual, which we reviewed last summer, and circulate them to departments in the building for staff's reading.

6. SafeRide Announcements

FYI to committee members that Circulation makes an announcement for the last pickup of the night.

7. Ergonomic Inspections

EH&S will no longer do department ergonomic inspections and wants one person to be the point person. Lorraine agreed with LAMP that Safety Committee should handle this request. Penny will ask Steve LeBoeuf for more information about what being a point person entails before we discuss it further.

8. Reflective Tape and Orange Safety Vests for Emergency Monitors

After discussion it was agreed that these items were not needed: we have enough equipment to deal with; emergency people will have reflective tape on their clothes; patrons will know person with megaphone is monitor.
